We picks up where we left off in the Season One finale, with Supergirl and Martian Manhunter fly to the crash site and find a man inside the pod, which later revealed to be Mon-El ( Played by Chris Wood who also played Kai Parker on The Vampire Diaries ) peacefully asleep. So, they decided to take him to The DEO headquarters which now they've moved to a skyscraper in National City and they're running as many tests on him as they can but so far they are't able to figure anything out and he still hasn't woken up.
This season premiere Kara has a lot on her mind, she has to pick a new career path because Cat Grant has only given her two days to make up her mind.
Plus, she has her first date with James Olsen which, didn't go well...
When someone sabotages The Launch of Venture ( The first commercial spacecraft ) Supergirl flies off to save the day but she didn't save the world alone this time.. Her cousin, Superman / Clark Kent ( Tyler Hoechlin ) shows up to help her. At first, they're kinda awkward to each other cause' this is the first time they work together and we see later on Kara couldn't stop gushes about how much she wanted to team up with him. Then, we also learn that Superman and J'onn a.k.a Martian Manhunter didn't get along because Superman is pissed at J'onn for keeping Kryptonite.
While investigating the failed launch, The DEO discovers that Lena Luthor was supposed to be on the flight but she was absent, which makes her a suspect. Clark and Kara visit her as a journalists and Lena cooperates and gives them evidence to help with the investigation. she point out that she's trying to step out of her family's criminal shadow by renaming her company. Later on, its reveal that Lex Luthor hired a wanted criminal, John Corben to kill Lena. But The Venture plan fails, so Corben uses drones to take down Lena's helicopter and Supergirl and Superman came to the rescue saving Lena and the civilians.
Kara and James relationship doesn't work out and the truth is she doesn't know, including her vocation. When she goes to see Cat, Cat gives Kara ( and us ) her "Classic" inspirational speech..
"You're standing on the shore afraid to dive the new waters. In order to live we must keep daring, keep diving."
The next day, Lena hosts a ceremony to celebrate renaming her family company, L-Corp and obviously Corben attacks the event. Thankfully, Alex is also there and fight him. Meanwhile, Supergirl is able to stabilize the building and put down Corben. After spending time with Clark which gives Kara inspiration for her vocation, she tells Cat she wants to be a reporter which is what Cat already predicted the first time Kara came in to interview for the assistant job. Kara finally makes up her mind with James and decided they'll be better off friends.
The episode ends with Cadmus saving John Corben's life by turning him into "Metallo".
